Course organiser support scheme

Would you like to organize a high-quality, in person course on a well-defined LCA-related topic in your local area, targeted to a clearly identified audience? You can now apply for economic support from the International Life Cycle Academy (ILCA) to cover costs of the planning and logistics of arranging a course.

ILCA is the leading global coordinator for educational materials and resources on life cycle assessment. As such, we have since 2011 provided on-site, in-person courses on various LCA related topics, mainly intended for testing new innovative course materials and formats, primarily aimed at university teachers, but also open for Ph.D. students and professionals. These courses have been held in Europe, specifically in Barcelona and Aalborg.

As part of ILCA’s mission to ensure availability of LCA-related training to all interested parties, we are looking to expand the geographical reach of our courses. We therefore wish to partner with local organizers around the world that seek to provide LCA training in their local area. Priority will be given to proposals that demonstrate a clear educational need, a realistic target audience, and a concrete plan for course delivery, rather than exploratory or conceptual ideas.

ILCA will provide an up-front payment of up to 800 EUR per course day to cover costs of planning and logistics of arranging an on-site, in-person course on an LCA-related topic. ILCA will handle invoicing of course fees and payment to teachers. In addition, after a successful course, ILCA will pay the local organizer 1/6 of the revenue obtained from the course.
